About me
The Beginning
I grew up in a small rural town in eastern Ontario. In my teens and early twenties, I was always creating some sort of art piece. I worked with wood and did many drawings with pencil. I always excelled in my art classes in school and loved every moment I spent there.
The Shift into the Modern World and into the World of the Mind
I started working full-time in the retail world in Montreal and the hours that I needed to work left me too tired to create. I was exhausted physically and emotionally. Those were difficult times…
Something led me to take the next step and to take on a corporate job in Toronto. My goal was to succeed in this new world and I did, but to my own detriment. I slowly forgot the artist in me, the creator.
I was in my late thirties when things started stirring inside of me - inner voices, intuition, a craving for something different, for something that felt more aligned with who I was.

The Search – Who was I?
I then began the search for something that would answer all my questions and those tugs floating around in my head, and in my heart.
I first started listening inside to that faint voice that seemed to be giving me directions to an unknown destination. I changed the people I spent time with, and started exploring activities and interests that were more aligned with truth, honesty and creativity.
I studied Feng Shui, meditation, subtle energies, crystals, and shamanic journeying. I participated in spiritually-oriented men’s groups to better understand myself and others. My interests began to include drumming, dancing, journaling, rituals, sacred intimacy and mindfulness.

Today
From this amazing 30 years artistic journey, I now have an appreciation and an understanding of how things can affect people emotionally and physically. I want to inspire others with my art and perhaps even provide a source of healing so they can live a more wholesome life.
I now create with confidence, beauty, clarity and intention. From drawing, to sculpting, to glass mosaics, to working with drift wood, I create art from an array of mediums. I even started working with leather, something I have never worked with before.
Many of my creations are made from recycled products. I have a lot of pride when I am able to create something that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. Everything has energy and this affects people in many different ways. When I create, I try to capture that energy in a way that will inspire people and that will somehow connect to their hearts and help them along their individual journeys.
Yvan the Explorer
I am always exploring new ways to express my creativity in my life and in my art. That is where I thrive. It is where I love, surprising myself to see what’s next, what will come out of my heart, and where the next adventure will take me.
